Meet the founding teams joining the upcoming edition of the biotope basecamp
we’re proud to welcome a remarkable cohort of startups from across the globe, each bringing unique expertise, bold solutions, and cutting-edge technologies to tackle critical challenges in agriculture, sustainability, and biotechnology.
From reimagining sustainable food systems to unlocking the hidden potential of the soil microbiome, the startups selected for the sixth edition of our basecamp embody a shared vision: a better future shaped by science and ingenuity.
Here’s a short introduction of the startups joining us in a few weeks:
- AgroGrinTech (Portugal) – Upcycling of fruit and vegetable waste recovering target enzymes and vitamins, gluten-free flours, natural additives
- Elaniti (UK) – Agricultural decision-making platform, predicting valuable agronomic outcomes from the soil microbiome
- Feesh (Denmark) – Developing Black Soldier Fly Larvae based fish feed for the aquaculture industry
- Koppie (Belgium) – Saving the coffee ritual through a natural, sustainably sourced bean coffee alternative through cutting-edge science
- KorallionBio (Belgium) – Develop thermosensitive pigments from microalgae (phycobiliproteins, carotenoids, etc.) that can be used as food colorants
- Landman Bio (Belgium) – Sustainable bacteriophage-based solutions to combat bacterial crop diseases
- Maicelium Biomaterials (Israel) – Turning waste into biodegradable, high-performance biopolymers through advanced fungal fermentation
- Mewery (Czech Republic) – Developing a platform for cell-cultivated meat products using a proprietary method of co-culturing animal and microalgae cells
- Omaiko (Israel) – Farming microalgae out of the water in the form of biofilms on a novel vertical biofilm farming platform
- Pathfinder Bio (UK) – Sustainable chemical manufacturing powered by innovative enzyme technology
- Primogene (Germany) – Developing biotechnology platforms for human-identical ingredients
- SymbioMatch (Denmark) – Customized biofertilizer tailored to the soil profile and crop target
From revolutionizing biofertilizers to pioneering biodegradable materials and rethinking food production, these teams exemplify the innovation and diversity at the heart of our program.
Congrats to all teams on their selection. Looking forward to diving deeper, climbing higher, and going further together during our basecamp kicking off in less than two weeks!
