Ten startups were selected to join or spring '25 basecamp, kicking off on June 2nd at Wintercircus Ghent.
We are pleased to announce the 10 founding teams selected to join biotope’s 7th cohort.
This diverse group of entrepreneurs is tackling key challenges in agriculture, biomanufacturing, food, and biomaterials — bringing science-driven solutions to life.
Spanning multiple continents, they represent the global reach and collaborative spirit that biotope is proud to support.

Hayden Biotech (Netherlands) – Scalable, affordable bioreactors for biomanufacturing.

Narval (USA) – Synthetic antibody-like proteins for agricultural pest and disease management.

POLYMERA (Uruguay) – Biodegradable superabsorbents from Antarctic bacterial polymers.

Seedling Biosystems (USA) – Engineered soybeans producing sustainable cosmetic and nutritional ingredients.

The Good Pulse Company (UK) – Fungi-powered fermentation for pulse-based cheese alternatives.

Typcal (Brazil) – Mycelium-based ingredients from circular economy streams.
The upcoming edition of our Basecamp marks the first time the program will be hosted at Wintercircus, the new innovation hub in Ghent dedicated to fostering collaboration across disciplines.
This move reflects our commitment to bringing the AI/tech and biotech ecosystems closer together, creating new opportunities for collaborative opportunities to emerge at the intersection of technology, biology, and entrepreneurship.
