Criteria

  • We invest in private companies with differentiated technology addressing unmet needs. We look for innovative and transformational technologies with high societal and/or environmental impact potential, in line with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
  • We focus on therapeutics, diagnostics supporting medical therapies, and sustainable agriculture

Sourcing

  • We have a preferred relationship with the Belgium-based VIB, one of the world’s premier life science research institutes. Part of the companies we back are built on VIB-derived innovations.
  • We additionally source deals coming from any research institute, entrepreneurial initiative, or spin-outs from mature companies, with a geographical focus on Europe.

Qbic is an inter-university sector-agnostic seed and early-stage venture capital fund, supporting young innovative companies that valorize research from Qbic’s knowledge partners. The fund typically participates in the first external investment round of a company and continues to support and invest in these companies throughout their growth. Across 3 funds, Qbic has close to € 200M in assets under management.
